Hyenas
The Spotted Hyena (Crocuta crocuta) is often regarded as a cowardly scavenger. This is far from the trusth as theses fascinating creatures with their complex matriarchy are in fact excellent hunters, moreover in the more Arid places. Its cousin the Brown Hyana (Hyaena brunnea) on the other hand is a nocturnal scavenger that is dependent on mainly the remains of lion kills.
