Lions are the undisputed Kings and Queens of the African Bush and Savannahs. A species that can send you shivers down your spine when locked onto their piercing amber eyes, yet at the same time Lions deserves our utmost respect and admiration for their survival abilities and intricate social ways of life.

There are two active Lava lakes in Africa, one in the DRC and one in Ethiopia. I have stood, completely in awe, on the edge of both of these volcanic craters. I hope this collection can convey the power and beauty of these mesmerising lakes.

After 15 years I finally returned to Madagascar in October 2023 to revisit the extraordinary places I had been to before, as well as to explore more corners of this amazing and colourful country full of photographic opportunities. I Love Namibia. It is probably my favourite photographic destination in Southern Africa. Namibia simply inspires me; I hope that this inspiration shows in this portfolio. Many more Namibia images can be found in other galleries on this website.

Even at night there is light! I love night photography since it is like photographing a whole new world. Particularly star trails, the Milky Way and lightning are the focus of my night images.

The Okavango Delta is often also referred to as the Jewel of the Kalahari. A titile that speaks for itself!

The great Makgadikgadi is much more than just endless dusty white salt pans. The variety it beholds is truly mind-blowing. The impressive Baobabs, mass congregations and migrations, massive bull elephants, otherworldly island and epic scenery keep pulling me back to continue my explorations.

Scenes of African landscapes that could have been recorded hundreds or even thousands of years ago. All presented in a Vintage monochrome image style.

The Kalahari Desert is not a true desert. Only the driest southern sections (better know as the Kgalagadi) do resemble what is generally understood as a desert. The Kalahari's dry hostile environment is however, full of contrasts and so quintessentially beautiful that it deserves to be tributed.
